A quietly powerful studio pottery vessel shaped by hand and fired in a reduction kiln, this mid century ceramic form feels closer to sculpture than traditional pottery. The cylindrical body is wrapped with looping, folded clay elements that rise and curl outward, creating an expressive silhouette that shifts as you move around it.

Finished in layered earth toned glazes, the surface reveals deep browns, muted greens and raw clay breaks where the glaze thins over edges and gathers in recesses. These subtle variations are the result of hand application and high temperature firing, giving the piece a richness and depth that can only come from studio craftsmanship.

Each curve, seam and loop was formed by the artist while the clay was still wet, making every detail slightly irregular and completely unique. The form reflects the experimental, organic language of mid century studio ceramics, where functional vessels became sculptural objects in their own right.

Equally beautiful styled on its own or holding a single stem, this piece brings warmth, texture and a quiet sense of artistry to any space.
